    When customers obtain separated from farmers through big, profit-focused corporations like Monsanto, ADM or even Whole Foods, some really nasty issues begin to happen to the standard of the food as well as the intention behind it. When farmers are available their food to genuine people, they care much more about its quality. However when they’re selling to some big, evil corporation that only pays them a pittance for almost all their effort, quality often gets thrown out the windowpane and it’s about maximizing production volume at the expense of quality. There are some exceptions to this, I understand, but as a general rule the more distant you get from the farmers, the lower the dietary quality of your food becomes. (more…)
